Inspired by Nordic heritage, the wooden Wakka-sideboards feature ornamental grooves and rounded edges reminiscent of old cheese molds and traditional Finnish bushels. The beauty of these artifacts, which were often crafted by agricultural workers in rural communities, lit the initial spark for the project.Vakka in Finnish means a traditional wooden container. Rekindling age-old aesthetics using modern woodworking techniques, the fishbone grooves form wavy loops that make the contemporary duo visually interesting from all directions.
